Karen Mendez joined JN Fund Managers as a Compliance Manager in December 2022. She has more than 20 years’ experience in financial service regulatory. In her role as senior compliance manager, Ms. Mendez is responsible for ensuring institutional adherence to internal policies and external legal and regulatory requirements. She is also responsible for leading the organisation’s efforts to foster a strong culture of compliance.

Prior to joining JN Fund Managers, Ms. Mendez served the Financial Services Commission (FSC’s) for 18 years primarily in the areas of securities, regulatory and market compliance, contributing to the development of Jamaica’s capital market, particularly to regulation of the market and the development of companies listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. She has also served as a member of the International Organization of Securities Commission’s (IOSCO) technical team on the Development of Corporate Governance Standards for international securities regulators.

Ms. Mendez holds an LL.B. (Hons.)  from the University of London and a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica. She also holds Certificate from IOSCO in Compliance and Regulation and from the Toronto Centre of Leadership, Risk Based Assessment.
